Talks On Health Education In County's Schools No teacher can separate her job from the needs of the community, arid no one can deny her responsi bility for health instruction, de clared Dr. Arnold Perry, assistant director of the State Department of 1 Viucat ion in an address on "Health Education" at the county wide teachers" meeting at the couri house Saturday. Dr Perry continued, saying that poor health is reflected in attend ance and the work that a pupil docs. A teacther should diagnose poor health and eye sight and take steps to correct them. Teach ing health consciousness is nec essary for good health of the pu pils. H;? said that one out of every six pupils in North Carolina re peats l is grade annually. Post Office To Be Open Saturday The post office here will be open all day on Saturdays. Decern - be: 11 and 18. for the purpose of speeding up Christmas mailing. The post office usually closes at noon on Saturdays. La.. has just returned from sea duty as a member of a Naval mm crew assigned to an Amer ican merchant vessel, it was an nounced today by headquarters of the 8th Naval district at New Or leans. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs Murray N. Parker. Andrews. Parker joined the Navy on Jan uary 25. 1943. During his six months at sea he visited porta in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. He was employed by the Mun det Cork company of Jacksonville. Fla.. prior to entering Uhe service.
